Denmark won this competition in 1992. So, what is the fuss all about? All the games in the Euros are tough. English are such a nation of doom and gloomers. We look grossly underprepared. This idea of Trent as a midfielder sounds impressive, but he's barely ever played there for Liverpool or England. So shunting him in at the start of a tournament hoping it works is laughable. Defensively I think we've actually been OK despite all the concerns there - it's all further up the pitch where the problems are. I didn't feel we ever tried to win that game yesterday. I'd start Gordon against Slovenia - we need someone other than Saka making runs in behind. Trent experiment needs to end too - just put Gallagher in there.

What on earth was going on with Italy? Totally off it. The people ignoring how much of a bad sign that rubbish win against Serbia finally realising why a statement win (not necessarily the score line) actually _means_ something. If Denmark had any nerves about facing england with all of those names in the lineup, that Serbia performance would've soothed their trepidation! Also, Denmark played with such great cohesion and precise linking passages. Why are England playing like they're the underdog? Gareth Boregate ball!

Watching England fans ripping into their team after a draw with Denmark (21st in the world, topped their qualifying group, 2nd in their last Nations league group) when they're unbeaten, top their group, have basically qualified for the next round and clearly still have loads in the tank... is quite hilarious. Sure, I'd rather Southgate was being a bit more adventurous, making his subs a bit earlier and could take the decision to drop Foden or put him in as a 10 with Bellingham back to 8 alongside Rice and play Gordon on the left - and England were generally being more fun to watch, but talk about First World Problems.

FINALLY the ball discussion i was looking for! Take us back to the rocket balls of the 2000s! Easy fix to make midfield goals a threat again, get players to improve shooting etc.

Please don't call the triple sub "brave", he did it for two reasons. 1. It's like for like, he's done this before, for him it's more an energy thing than a tactical change. 2. It's so that none of the players feel bad. If he takes one off it looks like they're the cause so he takes off three. The problem is the tactics are shocking so making changes won't actually do anything.

The guy in the red England top is absolutely clueless Only reason southgate is still in a job is because he's the media's darling boy.

Southgate's only system that has looked in any way stable was the 532 in 2018. He still has the players to do that now, he can put his bezzie mate Trent as the right wing back and walker goes in as the right sided CB of the 3 like he did in 2018. It also means Foden isn't shunted out left as he'd occupy the central attacking mid role, with bellingham and rice as the two deeper mids making runs like Alli did in 18. The 2 up front also suits The Big Slow Machine Kane who does absolutely nothing in this current system, as you can put a mobile forward next to him in the front two like how Sterling compensated for Kane's laziness in 18. I'm sick of us carrying this plodding Berbatov tribute act up front and listening to pundits still go on about how world class he is.
